1960年8月14日出生于英国伦敦，为六个孩子中的长女。
三岁始学跳舞，曾就读Elmhurst芭蕾学校及伦敦艺术教育学院。
十三岁便在伦敦的皮卡迪利(Picadilly)剧院，参加了戏剧“Iand Albert”的演出。
1994年，赴日与多明戈共同举行演唱会。
1996年，录制专辑《飞翔》(FLY)，同年底，受邀去德国参加重量级拳王马斯克的退休演唱会。
1997年，专辑《永志不渝》与同名单曲《告别时刻》同时横扫全球唱片市场，创下超过250万张的惊人销售记录。
1998年12月，个人专辑《重返伊甸园》(EDEN)在台湾上市，为欧洲以外的地区世界首卖。发行两周，台湾地区销售量已逼近白金唱片。
2000年4月，大碟《月光女神》(La luna)发行。
2003年5月，发行最新专辑《一千零一夜》(Harem)。Harem是以中东传说为基底所编织而成的一次音乐奇想之旅，整张专辑呈现出来的是广袤沙漠、无垠空间以及那种平和与充满灵性的感觉，这张专辑可能是莎拉布莱曼到目前为止最独特且最具个人特色的作品，不但展现了她在作曲方面的才华，她充满热情的创意构思以及举世无双的天籁歌声也都在其中淋漓尽致地呈现出来。
《Naughty But Nice》专辑所有的歌曲灵感都来自于Sarah的个人生活，同时在专辑中更多使用了吉他，歌曲经过Sarah独特的嗓音演绎，更突显蓝调的风格。
这首Living to love you 一推出市场，马上就赢得了无数的好评。
歌曲延续了她一贯的情歌路线，其情感唱腔收放自如。
